One-liner: the Ayuntamiento de València's annual music grant, operated by Valencia Innovation Capital — and the only public money in Valencia that explicitly names technological solutions for musical innovation as an eligible object.
What you get
- €2,500 to €15,000 per project, awarded on a points scale:
Score Award 50–57 €2,500 58–65 €5,000 66–73 €7,500 74–81 €10,000 82–89 €12,500 90–100 €15,000 - Maximum 70% of total project cost (taxes excluded). Projects with a total budget below €5,000 are not eligible.
- Plurianual since 2026: subsidised activity may run 1 June 2026 – 31 May 2027, matching real production cycles.
- Compatible with other grants from the Ayuntamiento or any other body, provided the same costs are not claimed twice. Subject to de minimis (Reg. UE 2023/2831).
Who it's for
- Natural persons, legal persons, comunidades de bienes, sociedades civiles, associations, foundations, unions, professional colleges and other non-profit or unincorporated economic entities.
- Excluded: public administrations and their dependent bodies; and entities sharing majority ownership with another applicant (one application per entity/group).
- Projects must be delivered within the municipality of València.
Eligible objects and spend
Object of the call: events, fairs, exhibitions, technological solutions linked to musical innovation, or sectoral training — aligned to the València Music City 2025-2030 strategy and framed around social innovation, musical research, creative economy and cultural sustainability.
Eligible spend includes:
- Technical staff, internal or subcontracted — capped at 30% of the grant awarded
- Accommodation, subsistence and travel for speakers/organisers
- Equipment rental; venue/installation rental
- Technological developments linked to improving musical events
- Music-sector training that directly improves musical events
- CO₂ offsetting; media coverage, security, insurance, public-space occupation fees
- Catering — capped at 30% of total project cost
- The external audit report the call itself requires
- Costs of using Las Naves / La Harinera spaces and technical means, if the event is held there
Not eligible: protocol/representation or luxury spend; permanent or inventoriable infrastructure; recoverable VAT and taxes; prize money (cash or in kind).
Scoring (100 points)
- Technical memoria — max 40 pts, and a minimum of 25 is mandatory (project quality, thematic alignment with VIC and VMC, duration, participants, budget viability). Below 50 total or below 25 on the memoria = rejected.
- Track record — max 20 pts: 3+ editions/years = 20; 2–3 = 10; first edition = 5. (This is the single hardest criterion for a new startup — a first-year entity is capped at 5 of 20 here.)
- Sociocultural aspects — max 30 pts, cumulative: accessibility for functional diversity (3), gender parity in the team (3), diversity and inclusion (3), beneficiary numbers (≤150 = 5; 15–500 = 10; 500+ = 20), decentralisation (1 barrio = 1; 3 city sites = 2; 6+ sites = 3).
- DANA recovery impact — max 10 pts: collaboration with entities affected by the DANA — 1 public + 1 private = 10; public only = 6; private only = 3. Must be evidenced by a collaboration agreement or letter.
How to apply
- Call is published in the BOP; the window is 20 calendar days from the day after publication.
- Apply through the Typeform link published on valenciainnovationcapital.com and vlcmusiccity.com. Applications outside the form or the window are inadmissible.
- Attach: ID or incorporation deed/statutes; AEAT, ATV (Agencia Tributaria Valenciana) and TGSS up-to-date clearance certificates dated within the application window; and Anexo I — digitally signed project memoria on the normalised template.
- Evaluation is by order of entry until the budget is exhausted — apply early, this is not purely comparative.
- Justify within 30 calendar days of project completion (simplified justification account since 2026), including an external auditor's report. Payment is a single transfer after completion and justification.
- All notifications go via convocatorias@vlcinnovation.com.
⚠️ Justification thresholds bite: justified spend below 90% of the submitted budget reduces the grant proportionally; below 70% the grant is denied entirely.
Live status and 2026 outcome
- 2026 edition is closed. Announced 21 May 2026, applications to ~9–10 June 2026, resolution published 22 July 2026.
- 74 applications (double the 37 of 2025). 26 projects funded (up from 16), sharing €200,000: 8 × €10,000, 13 × €7,500, 4 × €5,000, 1 × €2,500.
- Composition of winners: 12 festivals (€95,000), 7 continuous cycles/seasons (€55,000), 3 themed events (€25,000), 2 heritage projects (€15,000), 1 live-music venue circuit (€10,000), and 1 professional industry showcase (€10,000).
